"Ace vs. The People" CINEMATIC TRAILER - TEPPEN (English)-2
The objective was for players to figure out who is the culprit of the Central Park statue incident. As seen in the Ace vs. The People's cinematic trailer, the statue of Mayor Cody was destroyed by an unknown figure.
Players must pay attention to the AVP card's Flavor Texts and full illustrations which would give hints regarding who the culprit was. In addition, the in-universe story told during the TEPPEN HEADLINE #7 also gave hints on the case, the English version can be seen here and a full transcript can be read below.

Yeah, I was the one who organized bringing those guys into Central Park. But I did get permission from the security guard! Come to think of it, he did seem strangely interested in them... Not that I can blame him. Those guys are something else! | It's shown that Dan knew the passcode to open the Brachydios cage.
He was a sorry sight, but still he continued his search, running desperately through the forest in the dark of night. But there was no sign of his target... He must have gotten away! | It's shown that Dan was looking for something in the middle of the night.
No matter what I tried, I couldn't get ol' Punchy to wake up...so I gave him a "little something" to make him look lively!
Unfortunately, it worked a little too well... |
It's stated that Dan punched something at night to wake it up.
This photo was taken automatically at 2:00 a.m., July 1. It shows the moment the statue was destroyed, but while there's a visible figure in the shot, it's difficult to identify them. | It's shown that a human-like figure and some green mucus were at the statue when it was destroyed at 2:00 AM.
What better way to treat yourself after a day of work than by having a hot bowl of ramen on the way home? Miso broth, juicy char siu, perfect noodles that aren't too hard and aren't too soft...the warm feeling of happiness spreading through your body when you take your first mouthful... |
The time shown (2:02 AM) means that Larry Butz was not near the statue when it was destroyed.
A strange T-shirt found in the locker in the security guards' room. It's covered in bizarre illustrations. There was an absurd number of these T-shirts...were they intended for sale? | It's shown that Dan is punching Brachydios in the drawing.
The Brachydios that was discovered in the Central Park forest. There's a mark on its head that suggests it was punched. But what idiot would punch a gigantic, aggressive monster? | It's shown that Brachydios was punched by someone.
Scientific inquiry has given me the answer! That green paint is, in fact...Brachydios mucus! |
It's explained that the green mucus comes from Brachydios and that it is explosive.
One of the security guards assigned to the Central Park fountain. He was on duty on the night when the incident took place. He maintains that he ran to the scene after hearing a loud noise at the time of the crime, but didn't notice anything unusual. |
It's shown that Dan has green mucus on his arm. |

Survey 1 - Who's the Culprit[]
In the first survey, users could vote for one character of their choice for who they thought was the culprit, there were a total of 45 options.
This survey was held between April 16-May 9, 2021, the rewards included two AVP pack tickets, one for participating and another for guessing correctly. It was given the name Who's the Culprit (犯人予想 ).
Survey 2 - Prove Larry’s Innocence![]

This survey was held between April 29-May 16, 2021. The rewards included three AVP pack tickets and a player icon: one ticket and the Ace Attorney Phoenix player icon for participating and another AVP ticket for guessing correctly. It was given the name Prove Larry’s Innocence! (矢張の無罪を証明せよ! ).
- 1. [Question 1 of 3]

- Disregarding his insistence of innocence, which of the following was the reason Larry was repairing the statue when the incident was discovered?
- He thought the monster he brought destroyed the statue.
- He thought the statue was broken by the demon hunter he had hired.
- The incident happened during a Steel Samurai special show he was in-charge of.
- He thought the orange ball he lent to someone broke the statue.
- Explanation
When taking into consideration the Flavor Texts in Underworld Broker (AVP 092) (Dynamo approaching Larry to show candidates) and Brachydios (AVP 031) (Dynamo telling Larry that the "green stuff it secretes" makes some "fireworks"), it can be established that Larry knew that the green stuff on the statue came from Brachydios. The true culprit let the creature loose and Larry was the one who "hired" it for the Steel Samurai show, making him want to clean the mess.
- 2. [Question 2 of 3]
- Which of the following is the reason for Larry's innocence?
- At the time of the incident, Larry had a hurt foot and was unable to commit the crime.
- The investigation results determined that the statue was broken by a monster, not by a human.
- There was testimony that “the description of the culprit doesn't match Larry."
- He has an alibi for the time of the incident.
- Explanation
The alibi is shown in the full illustration of Ramen for the Road (AVP 049).
- 3. [Question 3 of 3]
- Which of the following images is the proof of Larry's innocence?
- Explanation
The full illustration of Ramen for the Road (AVP 049) shows Larry Butz eating ramen at 2:02 AM. As shown in the Flavor Text of Perfectly Timed Shot (AVP 068), the statue was destroyed at 2:00 AM.
Survey 3 - The real culprit is you, Dan![]
In the third survey, players were again given three questions with multiple choices to answer. They were all related to the culprit Dan.
This survey was held between June 7–13, 2021. The rewards included three AVP pack tickets and two player icons total: one ticket and the Icon "Objection! (JP)" / Icon "Objection! (EN)" icons for participating and two AVP tickets for guessing correctly. It was given the name The real culprit is you, Dan! (真犯人はダン、お前だ! ).
- 1. [Question 1 of 3]
The destroyed stone statue had Brachydios mucus stuck on it. Because of that, the culprit who committed the crime was deemed the person who fought with the Brachydios. Which of the following is evidence that shows Dan was the person who fought with the Brachydios?
- Explanation
Dan punched the creature and that made it spread green mucus on his body.
- 2. [Question 2 of 3]
The cage that held the Brachydios was unlocked and opened by the culprit.
Which image proves that Dan was able to unlock the cage?
- Explanation
The clipboard in Secretive Delivery (AVP 046) shows a code that is used to unlock the cage.
- 3. [Question 3 of 3]
Which of the following was the motive for Dan's fight with the Brachydios?
- By defeating the Brachydios he would be able to show the strength of the Saikyo Style, which would increase his T-Shirt sales and make him a lot of money.
- By defeating the Brachydios, he would be able to borrow money from the Tender Lender.
- By defeating the Brachydios, the rumored reason for the demon gathering, he could receive the rewards for demon hunting from the mayor.
- By defeating the villain, the Brachydios, it would ruin the Steel Samurai special show.
- Explanation
It can be established from Saikyo T-Shirt (AVP 017) that Dan wanted to sell the T-shirts.
